Avenue of Embers – My Ideas For March
Avenue of Embers started in January 2008 and are currently getting a album ready for you! Avenue of Embers began in the summer of 2007, when singer, Angie Lee and bass player, Jake Bowen met as fellow interns at an artist development program in LA. They went back home to Utah, where Jake got a job as an engineer at a recording studio and Angie taught voice lessons professionally at her own studio, Stand Out Studios. The songwriting and development of the band immediately began. In October of 2007, Angie landed a huge job as the lead singer of Disney’s Ultimate Band, and the production of the project just happened to be at the studio where Jake was working as engineer. Soon after, Jake became the bass player and a co-producer on the project. They worked hours upon hours recording and producing, and searching for the perfect guitar player for the band. In January of 2008, Angie and Jake knew they had to find a guitar player soon, and that the band was at a stalemate until they did. On a regular day of teaching, Steven Pollock walked into Stand Out Studios to have a voice lesson with Angie. In passing she mentioned that the band was looking for a guitarist, and Steve asked for an audition. The audition was set up for later in the week; Steve auditioned, and passed with flying colors. Then, the real work began; hours upon hours of songwriting and pre-production to find the right feel, sound and style of the band. There were countless 24-hour days with no sleep and lots of Red Bull! It was in these long hours and days that the band recorded the first editions of ‘My Ideas For March’. Soon the band was well under way, but they were still lacking the name. There were countless ideas thrown in the mix, and finally, after much discussion, they came up with ‘Avenue of Embers’. They finally had the name, but they were still missing the drummer. In June of 2008, with a hit single under way and a new name, the band was again at an impasse. Progression was slowing without someone to create the beats. So, the band did what most bands do; they posted an audition on Myspace. Among all of the drummers that walked into the AVE rehearsal space, there was only one that stuck. After a band meeting, and a second audition, Randy was named the drummer for Avenue of Embers. This is when the band truly excelled. With all the pieces together, they could begin to create what had started with just Angie and Jake almost a year earlier.
